How we handle bath re-enamelling in Aston
We clean, repair and prime the bath before spraying the new finish. Most of the work, and most of the durability, is in the preparation, and we take our time over it. Common call-outs are for an outdated colour you’d like to change and an original cast iron bath that needs restoring, in acrylic baths, cast iron baths and basins & shower trays.
Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee in Aston and across Halton.

Should I try a DIY kit first?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is what we repair.
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
Repair or replace: which is better?
A refit takes several trades and several days. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, and the bath can be used the day after. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Aston. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
Why us?
- Fixed prices from your pictures
- Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
- Typically one visit, start to finish
- We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing

Aftercare tips
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:
- Respect the curing time we give you
- Get any chip repaired quickly
- Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, particularly where water is hard, so limescale can’t build up.
The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and rust spots spread under the surface. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.
What we cannot put right
Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. We can’t fix:
- A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
- Problems we can’t see until an old finish comes off
- A bath split right through the body
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.
Surfaces we repair
- Pressed steel baths
- Acrylic baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Cast iron baths
- Basins & shower trays
Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £350. There is no charge for travel to Aston. The price depends on:
- Doing more than one item at once
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- How easy the damage is to reach
- The type of damage
The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You will see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.
Send photos for a quote
The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- The material, if you know it
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

What we do, step by step

- We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
- We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
- We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
- Once cured, normally by the day after, the bath is ready.
Preparing for the visit
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Have a window or extractor fan available
