Bath and surface repairs in Newcastle

Repairs at your home in Newcastle

We travel to homes and businesses across Newcastle to repair and resurface baths, shower trays, sinks, worktops and other hard surfaces. Everything is done in place, so there’s no need to remove the bath or disturb your tiles. Our technicians bring everything with them, mix the colour on the day and leave the room clean and tidy.

We work for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, housing providers, builders and hotels in Newcastle and the surrounding area. Most jobs are booked from photos, so you know the price before anyone visits.

Tyneside flats and older homes

Newcastle’s older housing includes Tyneside flats and Victorian terraces, where replacing a bath can mean disturbing the flat below. Repairing in place avoids that, and we protect the room while we work.

Water and your bath in Newcastle

Newcastle is mostly supplied from Kielder Water, which gives fairly soft water, so limescale is less of a problem than in the south and east of England. Soap scum and mould in sealant are more common: rinse the bath after use, keep the room ventilated and avoid abrasive pads, bleach and strong solvent cleaners on enamel, acrylic and resurfaced finishes. A soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all a repaired or re-enamelled bath needs. Read caring for a re-enamelled bath for more.

How it works

  1. Send photos. Send us a photo of the damage and one of the whole item, with your postcode. We reply with a fixed price.
  2. Book a visit. We agree a date and time with you. Most repairs need one visit; re-enamelling usually takes a day.
  3. Prepare and repair. The technician protects the room, cleans and prepares the surface, fills or coats it and mixes the colour on site.
  4. Finish and cure. The repair is smoothed, polished and left to cure. We tell you when you can use it again and how to look after it.
  5. Guarantee. Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. If anything isn’t right, we come back.

Repair, re-enamel or replace?

If the bath is sound and the damage is a chip, crack, rust spot or small hole, a repair is the quickest and cheapest fix. If the whole surface is worn, stained or dull, or you want to change a coloured bath to white, re-enamelling gives it a new finish without a refit. Replacement usually only makes sense if the bath is badly cracked through, leaking from the body or you want a different shape or size, because taking a bath out normally means lifting tiles, reworking pipes and redecorating.
