Bath re-enamelling in Catmore without replacing anything
We re-enamel a lot of period and roll-top baths, which are heavy, hard to move and costly to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. We regularly repair basins & shower trays, Victorian roll-tops and acrylic baths, and people most frequently call us about an outdated colour you’d like to change and brown or grey marks that don’t clean off.
Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

What your bath is made of matters
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

DIY kit or professional repair?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
Work for landlords and builders
For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
Should you replace it?
Getting a cast iron bath out is hard work: they’re heavy, frequently need breaking up, and a new one isn’t cheap. Re-enamelling avoids all of it. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

- We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
- We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
- We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
- The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.

How to get a price
A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

When we would advise against a repair
Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits:
- A metal bath with a through crack
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
- A bath that is rusted through
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.
Materials we work on in Catmore
- Basins & shower trays
- Victorian roll-tops
- Acrylic baths
- Pressed steel baths
- Cast iron baths
Keeping it looking good
A little care keeps the finish looking good. We recommend:
- A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
- Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
- Store bottles off the bath
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, especially in hard water areas, so limescale cannot build up.
Do not try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It removes more of the surface.
