Bath re-enamelling near Church Cove

Bath re-enamelling in Church Cove, done in place

Re-enamelling gives a worn bath a new glossy surface without taking anything out. It’s the answer when the entire bath is tired rather than one spot. We regularly repair pressed steel baths, acrylic baths and Victorian roll-tops, and people most frequently call us about a period or roll-top bath worth keeping and chips and rust in more than one place.

Every repair is covered by our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Cornwall.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a bath can take several days across several trades. Re-enamelling is one technician, generally one day, and the bath is usable the day after. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Church Cove: your questions answered

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.

Do you resurface freestanding baths?

Yes. We can do the inside and outside.

How durable is a resurfaced bath?

Look after it and it lasts. Gentle cleaning, no suction mats.

How much does bath re-enamelling cost in Church Cove?

Resurfacing from £350. We give a fixed quote based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your TR12 postcode.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Can you change the colour of my bath?

Yes. We can resurface a coloured bath in white, and the basin and toilet can be done too.

Are there extra charges for Church Cove?

There is no separate call-out charge. Your fixed price includes everything.

Do you need to take the bath out?

No. It’s re-enamelled where it stands, so nothing else is disturbed.

Work for landlords and builders

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip.

Looking after it afterwards

Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:

  • Have chips seen to early
  • Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
  • Store bottles off the bath
  • Fix dripping taps quickly

Give the finish its full curing time before using the bath. Then, gentle cleaning with a soft cloth is enough.

On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.

The process

We begin by going over the job with you, so there are no surprises. After that, protection goes down around the work area and the work begins. Allow most of the day, and we will keep you posted as we go.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.

Preparing for the visit

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

Ask for a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Advice

What your bath is made of matters

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Honest limits

Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. We cannot fix:

  • A bath that’s rusted through
  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
  • A metal bath with a through crack

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Acrylic baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths

  • The material
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what to send:

  • One picture of the whole bath
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
