Bath re-enamelling in East Buckland without replacing anything

Cast iron, steel, acrylic, roll-top and period baths can all be resurfaced. Several coats of finish go on over a bonding primer, once the bath has been cleaned, repaired and prepared. Whether it’s staining under the taps and around the waste and chips and rust in more than one place, we can help, whatever the material.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

What we’re called out for in East Buckland

Many baths we resurface have simply been well used. The body of the bath is generally perfectly sound.

Look out for these signs:

  • Wear marks under the taps
  • A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
  • A peeling or bubbling previous coating
  • An outdated colour you’d like to change

What your bath is made of matters

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.

East Buckland: your questions answered

Can you price it without visiting?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Do you cover East Buckland?

Yes, we do. Repair technicians travel to East Buckland from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Can pets and children be at home?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children.

How long does re-enamelling last?

A well-prepared finish lasts a long time if it’s looked after. Gentle cleaning, no suction mats.

Will there be a smell?

A little, depending on the job. Open windows and an extractor fan help.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it is not worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

Work for landlords and builders

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in East Buckland as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it normally costs far less than a refit.

Why repair rather than replace?

If the bath is sound, re-enamelling is typically much cheaper than replacing it, when you count removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating. It’s also far quicker. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Why book with us

  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • One visit for most repairs
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

How it works

When we visit, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take the best part of a day. We clean up when we are done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. Primer and finish coats are applied.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

How to get a price

We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.

How to look after the repair

A little care keeps the finish looking good. We recommend:

  • Get any chip repaired quickly
  • Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs immediately
  • Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it

Stick to mild, non-abrasive cleaners, avoid suction bath mats, and don’t leave bottles or razors standing on the surface.

The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and any rust spreads underneath. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. We do not charge extra for travel to East Buckland. The price comes down to:

  • How much damage there is
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The material and finish

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book, with no extras added later.

Getting a price from photos

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A photo taken from further back
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Natural light rather than flash

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed quote back. Quotes are free and you’re under no obligation.
