About our bath re-enamelling in Eastcote

Resurfacing renews the entire surface of the bath without a refit. It suits baths that are dull, stained, rough or chipped all over. Common call-outs are for a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean and a coating lifting around the plughole, on basins & shower trays, pressed steel baths and cast iron baths.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. Each job gets its own fixed quote. These are the things that affect it:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • What the surface is made of
  • The colour and finish to match

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Send pictures for a quote

Phone pictures are fine, there’s no need for anything special. Make sure they show:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Where you are, by postcode

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

Common questions in Eastcote

Can you price it without visiting?

Typically, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Will the price change on the day?

If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Are you accredited?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Will you leave a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

Do you cover Eastcote?

We do. Technicians travel to Eastcote from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.

How long is the bath unusable?

Most baths are done in a day, ready the day after. We give you timings with the quote.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit normally costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

Which areas do you work in?

The entire UK, including all of Northamptonshire. Send your postcode with your photos and we will offer you dates.

Repair or replace: which is better?

There are times replacing is better: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you’re refitting the entire room anyway. Otherwise, resurfacing generally wins. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why us?

  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish

Repairs by material

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

What we do, step by step

There is not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll get on with it. Most visits take a full day, tidy-up included.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Point us to the nearest place to park

How to get a price

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.

Related advice

Can I fix it myself?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

When we’d advise against a repair

Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. We can’t fix:

  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Pressed steel baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Acrylic baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Cast iron baths

Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Eastcote

Once enamel loses its gloss, it stains more easily, and cleaning harder only makes it worse. At that stage, resurfacing is the fix.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • A dull, rough surface that will not come clean
  • Thin, worn enamel in places
  • Brown or grey marks that do not clean off
  • A bath in a colour that no longer suits

What your quote should include

  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • How changes to the job are handled
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long

Keeping it looking good

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
  • Keep suction mats out of the bath
  • Fix dripping taps quickly
  • A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away

Wipe the bath dry after use where you can, particularly with hard water, and rinse away any product left on the surface.

Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time and make the job bigger. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.
