Bath re-enamelling in Eye without replacing anything
We don’t move the bath, so your taps, tiles and plumbing are left alone. Most baths are done in one visit, with the bath ready to use the following day. We are often asked to fix an outdated colour you’d like to change and enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough, in Victorian roll-tops, acrylic baths and basins & shower trays.
Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee in Eye and across Suffolk.

Questions from Eye
Do you hold any accreditations?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
Will there be a smell?
There can be some smell while we work, so we ventilate the room. It fades as everything cures.
Can you price it without visiting?
Typically, yes. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.
What areas do you cover?
We work UK-wide. Our prices are the same everywhere.
Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?
Yes. Stripping the old coating adds time, so it’s reflected in the quote.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.
Can pets and children be at home?
On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, so the repair isn’t disturbed while it cures.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you’ll get one combined price.
Repair or replace: which is better?
Replacing a bath can take several days across several trades. Resurfacing takes one technician and typically a day, and the bath is usable the day after. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

How it works
When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take a full day. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
- We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
- We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
- The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
- The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.
How to prepare
- Make sure the area is dry
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Have a window or extractor fan available
Getting a price
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, include your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Can I fix it myself?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

When to call us in Eye
Once enamel loses its gloss, it stains more easily, and cleaning harder only makes it worse. At that stage, resurfacing is the fix.
If you can see any of these, send us a photo:
- Chips and rust in more than one place
- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
- An old resurfacing that’s failing
- Enamel that is lost its shine and feels rough
What your quote should include
- How the colour is matched
- How long it needs to cure
- A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
- What protection goes down before work starts
Honest limits
To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
- A bath split right through the body
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.
Materials we repair
- Pressed steel baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Cast iron baths
- Victorian roll-tops

What affects the price in Eye
Prices start from £350. We give every job a fixed quote from photos. This is what makes a difference:
- Doing more than one item at once
- The type of damage
- How hard the colour is to match
- Access to the area
Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
Send photos for a quote
You can typically get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:
- What it’s made of, if you know
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
Most clients in Eye get their price from pictures. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
How to care for the repair
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Have chips seen to early
- Don’t leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
- A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
- Fix dripping taps quickly
The first few days matter most: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.
Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.
