Bath re-enamelling for Heale homes

About our bath re-enamelling in Heale

Resurfacing renews the whole surface of the bath without a refit. It’s the answer when the whole bath is tired rather than one spot. If you are dealing with an old resurfacing that’s failing and brown or grey marks that don’t clean off, we can typically put it right, on acrylic baths, pressed steel baths and Victorian roll-tops alike.

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee.

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. Prices are worked out job by job, from your photos. What matters most is:

  • How much damage there is
  • What the surface is made of
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Access to the area

What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

How to get a fixed quote

Phone pictures are fine. Make sure they show:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Details of any past repairs
  • The material, if you know it
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

Questions from Heale

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

What happens if you find more damage?

Your quote covers the damage in the photos. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Can you make a coloured bath white?

Yes. We can resurface a coloured bath in white, and we can do the rest of the suite as well.

Can you do the outside of a roll-top?

Yes. Inside and out if you’d like.

Do you cover Heale?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Heale. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can tenants book a repair?

We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Is it messy?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses in Heale.

What a repair can’t fix

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
  • Steel that has corroded right through
  • A bath split right through the body

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Basins & shower trays
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Cast iron baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Pressed steel baths

Do you need bath re-enamelling in Heale?

Previous coatings can fail too, peeling around the waste or bubbling. Failing coatings are stripped back before we resurface.

You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:

  • An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
  • Lots of chips and rust spots
  • Staining under the taps and around the waste
  • An outdated colour you’d like to change

What your quote should include

  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • Who will actually do the work
  • How the colour is matched
  • What aftercare is recommended

10 questions to ask before booking

How it works

Here’s how a visit normally runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and clear up. Allow a full day. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.

Before we arrive

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Open a window if you can

Getting a price

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos through our quote form or ring us. We’ll say immediately whether it can be repaired.

Advice

Should you replace it?

There are times replacing is better: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you are refitting the entire room anyway. Otherwise, resurfacing usually wins. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why Heale clients choose us

  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • One price list for the whole UK
  • Everything repaired in place

See our pricing and resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

How to care for the repair

Most damage we see is avoidable. These habits help:

  • Never use suction bath mats
  • Don’t leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
  • Get any chip repaired quickly
  • Fix dripping taps quickly

Avoid hair dye, bath bombs and oils sitting on the surface, as they can stain. Fix dripping taps quickly.

The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and rust spots spread under the surface. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.

Work for landlords and builders

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Heale use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it generally costs far less than a refit.
