Bath re-enamelling in Jockey End

How it works

We agree an arrival time beforehand. On site, it takes most of the day. We leave the room clean and you will know when it can be used.

  1. The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
  2. We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
  3. We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
  5. The bath is left to cure and can generally be used the following day.

How to prepare

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

Bath re-enamelling in Jockey End without replacing anything

If your bath is sound but looks tired, resurfacing is normally the best value. There is no removal, plumbing or tiling involved. Our technicians work on acrylic baths, pressed steel baths and cast iron baths, and the jobs we see most are staining under the taps and around the waste and thin, worn enamel in places.

We guarantee the work for a year. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Should you replace it?

A refit takes several trades and several days. Re-enamelling takes one technician and normally one day, with the bath ready the next day. Prices start from £350. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why us?

  • One visit for most repairs
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • One price list for the entire UK
  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide

What your bath is made of matters

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.

Keeping it looking good

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
  • Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
  • Don’t leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
  • A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away

Wipe the bath dry after use where you can, particularly with hard water, and rinse away any product left on the surface.

On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading and make the job bigger. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.

Common questions in Jockey End

Do the materials smell?

Expect a mild smell while we are working that clears as it cures.

Is it messy?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

Is my repair covered?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Do you do work for letting agents?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Will the price change on the day?

If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

How long does re-enamelling last?

It depends on preparation, use and care. Properly prepared and looked after, it lasts well, and it’s guaranteed for a year.

Can you re-enamel a roll-top bath?

Yes, frequently. The inside is resurfaced, and we can refinish the outside as well.

What we cannot put right

Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
  • Steel that has corroded right through

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we repair

  • Acrylic baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Basins & shower trays

Landlords, agents and businesses in Jockey End

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

How we price bath re-enamelling

Prices start from £350. There’s no area surcharge for Jockey End. The price reflects:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The material and finish
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

Compared with replacing, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Send pictures for a quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Try to send:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

Most clients in Jockey End get their price from pictures. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
