About our bath re-enamelling in New Farnley
Cast iron, steel, acrylic, roll-top and period baths can all be resurfaced. Several coats of finish go on over a bonding primer, after the bath has been cleaned, repaired and keyed. Common call-outs are for worn patches where water runs and sits and stains that won’t shift, in basins & shower trays, Victorian roll-tops and acrylic baths.
You are covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Should I try a DIY kit first?
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
Why repair rather than replace?
For a sound bath, resurfacing costs far less than replacement, once you add removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating to the price of a new bath. It’s much quicker too. Prices start from £350. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing usually costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
Why book with us
- A year’s guarantee on all work
- Work done at your home or business
- We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
- CHAS and Constructionline accredited

Looking after it afterwards
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Respect the curing time we give you
- Repair dripping taps early
- Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
- Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, particularly where water is hard, so limescale cannot build up.
Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It removes more of the surface.
Your questions about bath re-enamelling in New Farnley
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include pictures of each item.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Generally, yes. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.
Can you make a coloured bath white?
Yes. We can resurface a coloured bath in white, and we can do the rest of the suite as well.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
Do the materials smell?
Expect a mild smell while we are working.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We will tell you when the room can be used again.
How long does re-enamelling take?
Normally a day, then it’s ready to use the following day. A badly pitted bath can need a second day.
What happens if you find more damage?
Your quote covers the damage in the photos. If there’s more, we’ll tell you before starting.

How it works
Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, do the job and tidy away. Plan for most of the day from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.
- We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
- Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
- We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
- The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.
Before we arrive
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
How to get a price
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.
Advice
Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. Prices are worked out job by job. What matters most is:
- What the surface is made of
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- Access to the area
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for New Farnley. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
Quotes from your photos
Phone photos are fine, there’s no need for anything special. Ensure they show:
- A picture taken from further back
- Something in shot to show the size
- What it’s made of, if you know
- Where you are, by postcode
For a price in New Farnley, the easiest route is photos: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
Common problems we fix in New Farnley
Many baths we resurface have simply been well used, with nothing wrong except the surface. Underneath, a cast iron or steel bath is usually as strong as ever.
Look out for any of the following:
- Staining under the taps and around the waste
- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
- A dull, rough surface that will not come clean
- A coloured bath you want in white
What to look for in a quote
- What the guarantee covers, and for how long
- Who turns up on the day
- A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
- If travel is included in the price
