How to care for the repair

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • Keep suction mats out of the bath
  • Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
  • Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
  • Get any chip repaired quickly

Dry the bath after use if possible, especially in hard water areas, and rinse off any bath products.

Leave a peeling coating alone. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so have it stripped and resurfaced.

Bath re-enamelling at your home in Normanton Spring

Many of the baths we re-enamel are period roll-tops, which are heavy, hard to move and costly to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. Typical jobs include a coating lifting around the plughole and enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough, across acrylic baths, Victorian roll-tops and pressed steel baths.

Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee in Normanton Spring and across Sheffield.

How we price bath re-enamelling

Prices start from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The material
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • What kind of damage it is

We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Getting a price from photos

You can generally get a fixed quote without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A photo taken from further back
  • The material, if you know it
  • Details of any past repairs

Upload a photo of the damage and one of the whole item, and tell us you’re in Normanton Spring, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Normanton Spring

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send pictures with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

Do you cover the entire of Sheffield?

Everywhere in the UK, Normanton Spring included. Travel is included in the price.

Can you do the outside of a roll-top?

Yes, roll-tops are a big part of our work. The inside is resurfaced, and we can refinish the outside as well.

Will there be fumes?

A little, during the work. We set up ventilation and the smell fades as it cures.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We look at the photos and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.

Will the bath be moved?

No, it stays where it is. Everything is done in your bathroom, with the room masked and ventilated.

Do you work in Normanton Spring?

Yes, we do. Technicians travel to Normanton Spring from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Honest limits

Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs will not solve:

  • A bath that’s rusted through
  • A metal bath with a through crack
  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we repair

What happens on the day

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. It normally takes most of the day, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures until the following day.

Before we arrive

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Different materials, different repairs

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

Pressed steel

Steel baths re-enamel well, once any rust has been treated. Steel frequently rusts by the plughole, so we check it carefully.
