Bath re-enamelling in North Stoneham

Bath re-enamelling in North Stoneham, done in place

After re-enamelling, the bath has a smooth, glossy, new-looking surface, without any of the disruption of replacing it. It’s ideal if you like your bathroom but not the state of the bath. We work on Victorian roll-tops, cast iron baths and basins & shower trays, and the jobs we see most are stains that won’t shift and a peeling or bubbling previous coating.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a cast iron bath is a big job: it’s very heavy, may need breaking up, and the replacement can be costly. Resurfacing in place avoids that entirely. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Why book with us

  • Typically one visit, start to finish
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing

See our pricing and guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

Looking after it afterwards

It’s all simple stuff, just a few sensible habits:

  • Have chips seen to early
  • Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
  • Wash away dyes and oils after use
  • Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners

The first few days matter most: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.

The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and rust spots spread under the surface. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.

Work for landlords and builders

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

When a repair is not the answer

Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. We can’t fix:

  • Problems we cannot see until an old finish comes off
  • Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

What we work on

  • Cast iron baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Acrylic baths

How the visit works

We agree an arrival time beforehand. On site, it takes the best part of a day for most jobs. We leave the room clean and you’ll know when it can be used.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure until the day after.

How to prepare

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

How to get a price

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. Quotes are free and no obligation.

DIY kit or professional repair?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. Each job gets its own fixed price. These are the things that affect it:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The material

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Send photos for a quote

Phone photos are fine. Just make sure we can see:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • A picture taken from further back

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

Questions from North Stoneham

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes, often. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

How long is the bath unusable?

Typically a day, then it’s ready to use the following day. Deeply pitted baths may need a second day.

Will it make a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

Is the work guaranteed?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

What happens after I send pictures?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

What information do you need?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we will take it from there.

Can tenants book a repair?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just ensure the landlord agrees.

Do you charge for travel?

We do not add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.

Different materials, different repairs

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is what we repair.

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
