Bath re-enamelling in Pell Green

Repairing versus replacing in Pell Green

Replacing a bath can take several days across several trades. Resurfacing takes one technician and usually a day, and the bath is usable the day after. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Bath re-enamelling at your home in Pell Green

Many of the baths we re-enamel are period roll-tops, which would be difficult and expensive to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. We’re often asked to fix a bath that stays dull however much you clean it and worn patches where water runs and sits, across Victorian roll-tops, pressed steel baths and basins & shower trays.

Every job is backed for twelve months in Pell Green and everywhere else. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

The process

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we’re there. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes the best part of a day. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.

FAQs for Pell Green

How do I get a price for bath re-enamelling in Pell Green?

Prices start from £350. We give a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your TN5 postcode.

What do you need from me?

Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes: twelve months. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

What happens next?

We review the photos and send a fixed quote with dates.

Is there a call-out fee?

There’s no separate call-out charge. Your fixed quote includes everything.

Can you quote from photos?

Nearly always. If pictures don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.

What a repair cannot fix

We’d rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
  • Steel that has corroded right through

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Acrylic baths

Work for landlords and builders

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Pell Green

Older baths frequently have several problems at once: dull areas, chips, rust and staining. Resurfacing sorts them out together.

If you can see any of these, send us a photo:

  • Staining under the taps and around the waste
  • An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
  • Enamel that is lost its shine and feels rough
  • An old resurfacing that’s failing

Questions to ask before you book

  • How your room will be protected
  • How soon you can use it again
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • Aftercare advice

Choosing a repair company

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. You will know the full cost before you book. We look at:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • What kind of damage it is

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You will see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Send pictures for a quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Please include:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Details of any past repairs

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through.

Repairs by material

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Can I fix it myself?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.
