Bath re-enamelling near Pye Corner

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. You will know the full cost before you book. We take into account:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • How many areas need work
  • Access to the area
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Send photos for a quote

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

Upload photos of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, and tell us you’re in Pye Corner, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

How we handle bath re-enamelling in Pye Corner

After cleaning, repairing and priming, we spray on the new finish. The preparation is what makes it last, so we don’t cut corners on it. Common call-outs are for an old resurfacing that’s failing and a bath in a colour that no longer suits, in acrylic baths, Victorian roll-tops and pressed steel baths.

Whatever the size of the job, you get the same one-year guarantee.

How the visit works

We agree an arrival time beforehand. Once we are there, the work takes most of the day. The room is left tidy and you’ll know when it can be used.

  1. First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

How to get a price

Aftercare tips

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
  • Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
  • Repair dripping taps early
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs straight away

A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, particularly where water is hard, to stop limescale building up.

Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time, and each one adds to the preparation. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Pye Corner

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

Honest limits

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
  • Steel that has corroded right through
  • A bath split right through the body

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.

Questions from Pye Corner

Is there a smell?

Some odour is normal while we spray, so we ventilate the room. It fades as the coating cures.

Can a failed resurfacing be redone?

Yes. Removing the old finish takes extra time, which we include in the price.

Are there extra charges for Pye Corner?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Which areas do you work in?

We cover the whole UK, including Pye Corner and the rest of Somerset. Send your postcode with your photos and we will offer you dates.

Is my repair covered?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

How long does re-enamelling take?

Most baths are done in a day and can be used the day after. We’ll confirm timings when we quote.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.

Do you do work for letting agents?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Why repair rather than replace?

There are times replacing is better: a cracked-through bath, a change of size or shape, or a full refit. Otherwise, resurfacing usually wins. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. A repair typically costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send pictures and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.
