Bath re-enamelling for Rhosmaen homes

Bath re-enamelling in Rhosmaen, done in place

The bath stays where it is, so your taps, tiles and plumbing are left alone. Most baths are done in one visit, and can be used again the day after. Whether it’s an old resurfacing that’s failing and a coloured bath you want in white, we can help, on acrylic baths, pressed steel baths and cast iron baths alike.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re covered after the visit.

Rhosmaen: your questions answered

Are there extra charges for Rhosmaen?

We don’t add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

Can you resurface a pink bath in white?

Yes, white is the usual choice. Mention the colour you want when you send photos.

Will there be fumes?

A little, during the work. We set up ventilation and the smell fades as it cures.

What do you need from me?

Send pictures through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787.

Do I have to be there?

We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.

Is it messy?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

How long is the bath unusable?

One day for most baths and can be used the day after. We give you timings with the quote.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Aftercare tips

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
  • Fix dripping taps quickly
  • Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
  • Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it

Dry the bath after use if possible, especially in hard water areas, and rinse away any product left on the surface.

Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time and make the job bigger. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we check it carefully.

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

What a repair cannot fix

It helps to know what we can’t do:

  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
  • A bath that is rusted through
  • A metal bath with a through crack

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

What we work on

  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Victorian roll-tops

What affects the price in Rhosmaen

Prices start from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The type of damage
  • What the surface is made of

The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Quotes from your pictures

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Any details about the material

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Repair or replace: which is better?

If you like your bathroom but not your bath’s surface, re-enamelling is the least disruptive fix. Tiles, panels and taps stay put. Prices start from £350. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why us?

  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Work done at your home or business
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface

Can I fix it myself?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

What we do, step by step

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and clear up. Plan for a full day. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure until the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
