Bath re-enamelling in The Holt, done in place
Most baths are re-enamelled in a day, with the bath ready to use the following day. Nothing is disconnected or removed. Whether it’s brown or grey marks that don’t clean off and a coloured bath you want in white, we can typically put it right, on acrylic baths, Victorian roll-tops and cast iron baths alike.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are covered after the visit.

What we can’t put right
Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs will not solve:
- A bath that is rusted through
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
- A bath split right through the body
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.
Materials we repair
- Pressed steel baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Acrylic baths
- Cast iron baths
- Victorian roll-tops
Repairs by material
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
How we price bath re-enamelling
Prices start from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:
- Doing more than one item at once
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- How easy the damage is to reach
- The colour and finish to match
Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
Getting a price from photos
Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:
- A wider photo showing the whole bath
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- Natural light rather than flash
- The material, if you know it
No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.
Your questions about bath re-enamelling in The Holt
Do you charge for travel?
No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Do you cover the whole of Wokingham?
The entire UK, including all of Wokingham. Just include your postcode and we’ll confirm dates.
What happens next?
You will get a fixed quote back. There’s no obligation to book.
How long does re-enamelling take?
Normally one day, with the bath ready the day after. A badly pitted bath can need a second day.
Will the new finish last?
Care for it and it lasts. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.
Can a failed resurfacing be redone?
In most cases. We strip the failing coating and resurface it properly. Mention it when you send photos.
How much does bath re-enamelling cost in The Holt?
Resurfacing from £350. We give a fixed price from your pictures. Send a close-up and a photo of the whole item and your postcode.
Will you leave a mess?
Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.
For landlords and businesses
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Wokingham and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
When to call us in The Holt
Often the bath has just had decades of use, with nothing wrong except the surface. The body of the bath is generally perfectly sound.
Clients generally contact us about:
- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
- A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
- Stains that won’t shift
- Lots of chips and rust spots
Questions to ask before you book
- How to look after the finish
- Whether the colour is mixed to match
- Whether a trained technician does the job
- What happens if they find more damage
How it works
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. It typically takes most of the day, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.
- The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
- We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
- The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
- We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
- We leave it to cure, and it’s usually ready the following day.
Preparing for the visit
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
