When we would advise against a repair

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we work on in All Saints

Bath repair in All Saints without replacing anything

Bath repair is our most common job. Chips on the rim, rust around the waste and cracks in acrylic are all fixed without removing the bath, normally in a single visit. We’re frequently asked to fix chips on the rim or sides and rust by the waste and overflow, across pressed steel enamel, cast iron enamel and acrylic.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months in All Saints and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

How it works

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, and get on with the job, which normally takes a few hours. If anything looks different from your pictures, we will talk to you before going ahead.

  1. First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Open a window if you can
  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. We don’t charge extra for travel to All Saints. The price comes down to:

  • The material
  • The type of damage
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

How to get a fixed quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Please include:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • One picture of the entire bath
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Email us photos of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your EX13 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Different materials, different repairs

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

All Saints questions

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses.

How do I book?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Will the repair show?

On a bath in good condition, a colour matched repair is very hard to spot. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.

Can you match an avocado or pink bath?

Yes. We mix the colour on the day to match, including older coloured suites.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before.

When can I have a bath again?

Generally within a day, though it depends on what we’ve done.

Which areas do you work in?

The whole UK, including all of Devon. Send your postcode with your photos and we’ll offer you dates.

What does bath repair cost?

Repairs from £95. Every job gets a fixed quote based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up and a picture of the whole item with your EX13 postcode.

When to call us in All Saints

Most bath damage comes from something dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On steel and cast iron baths, a chip that reaches the metal will start to rust.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • Impact holes in acrylic
  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • Rust by the waste and overflow

Questions to ask before booking

  • When it can be used again
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
  • What preparation is included

How to look after the repair

It’s all simple stuff, just a few sensible habits:

  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Rinse it down after each bath

Keep metal objects like razors and cans off the surface, as they can leave rust marks. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.
