Trusted bath repair in Allt

Bath repair at your home in Allt

Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and you can normally bathe again the next day. There’s no need to book a plumber or tiler, because the bath does not move. We work on acrylic, whirlpool & spa baths and roll-top & freestanding, and common reasons people get in touch are a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting and chips caused by builders.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. Chips can rust if left, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, so it’s always worth repairing.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. There’s no area surcharge for Allt. The price reflects:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How many areas need work
  • What kind of damage it is

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Send pictures for a quote

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what to send:

  • One picture of the whole bath
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job.

Repair or replace: which is better?

When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and you keep the bath you chose. If the entire surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we will tell you. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Allt. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why Allt customers choose us

Allt: your questions answered

What information do you need?

Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, access to the room.

Is a bath repair durable?

It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It’s covered by our one-year guarantee.

Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?

Yes. We mix the colour on the day to match, including pastel and older colours.

What happens next?

We review the pictures and send a fixed quote with dates.

Can you quote from pictures?

Usually, yes. Clear photos let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

Is there any odour?

There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It clears as the materials cure.

What does bath repair cost?

Repairs from £95. Because every job differs, we price from photos. You will get a fixed figure before you book.

Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Mention it when you send pictures.

Our hiring checklist

How to look after the repair

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
  • Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
  • Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath, avoiding abrasives.

Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.

What we do, step by step

From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes a morning or an afternoon, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
