Can I fix it myself?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

Work for landlords and builders

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Asheridge as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it usually costs far less than a refit.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. There’s no charge for travel to Asheridge. The price comes down to:

  • The material and finish
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How many items we do on one visit

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Send photos for a quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • The material, if you know it
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

For a price in Asheridge, photos are the quickest way: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

What a repair can’t fix

Some jobs are not right for a repair, for example:

  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Repair or replace in Asheridge?

If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and you keep the bath you chose. If the whole surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we’ll tell you. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

What we do, step by step

When we visit, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job usually takes a few hours. We clean up when we’re done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

When to call us in Asheridge

A cracked acrylic bath usually wasn’t supported properly. Legs that are not adjusted, a missing cradle or a soft floor let the base flex until it cracks.

The things customers generally mention when they call include:

  • A kit repair that didn’t last
  • A hole punched through by something heavy
  • Rusty patches near the plughole
  • Snagging damage from a refit

What your quote should include

  • Aftercare advice
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • How soon you can use it again
  • Who will actually do the work

Choosing a repair company

What your bath is made of matters

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, which makes it well worth repairing.
