Bath repair in Balmacara without replacing anything

You do not need a new bath because of a chip. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, mixing the colour on the day so the repair is hard to spot. If you are dealing with a chip where the taps sit and chips caused by builders, we can help.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Bath enamel chip by the waste, filled and colour matched (before and after)

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a bath rarely stops at the bath: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, a new panel is frequently needed, and the plumbing has to be disconnected and refitted. A repair skips all of it. Prices start from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why book with us

  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Nothing taken out or refitted

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

The process

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and tidy away. Plan for a few hours. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
  2. We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
  3. The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
  4. Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
  5. Once it has cured, generally by the following day, the bath is ready to use.

How to prepare

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

Signs you need bath repair in Balmacara

Most bath damage comes from something dropped: bottles, shower heads, tiles and tools. On steel and cast iron baths, any chip down to the metal will start to rust.

Get in touch if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • Impact holes in acrylic
  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
  • Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted
  • Cracks in an acrylic bath

Our hiring checklist

For landlords and businesses

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Balmacara as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it generally costs far less than a refit.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.

Your questions about bath repair in Balmacara

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners.

Do the materials smell?

There may be a mild smell during the work that clears as it cures.

How quickly can you book me in?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

What about rust by the waste?

Yes. We take out the rust and any loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?

Often, if there’s access underneath. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

Frequently, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Take off the bath panel and check, or send us a photo.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit typically costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

Looking after it afterwards

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale

Keep metal objects like razors and cans off the surface, as they can leave rust marks. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The type of damage
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Balmacara. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Getting a price from photos

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Details of any past repairs

Email us photos of the damage and one of the whole item, and tell us you are in Balmacara, and we will come back with a fixed quote.
