Need bath repair in Basted?

Bath repair in Basted without replacing anything

Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and you can generally bathe again the following day. There’s no need to book a plumber or tiler, because the bath does not move. Our repair technicians work on acrylic, cast iron enamel and pressed steel enamel, and the jobs we see most are impact holes in acrylic and hairline or through cracks in acrylic.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there is a problem and we will come back.

Can I fix it myself?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

What we cannot put right

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
  • A steel bath rusted through

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel

The process

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you are not left guessing. Once we are there, the work takes a morning or an afternoon in most cases. We leave the room clean and you will know when it can be used.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, normally the following day.

Before we arrive

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

How to get a price

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. Prices are worked out job by job, from your photos. What matters most is:

  • What the surface is made of
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The colour and finish to match

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Send pictures for a quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • The material, if you know it
  • Something in shot to show the size

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote. There is no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a bath rarely stops at the bath: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, the panel may not fit the new one, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. Repairing the damage avoids all of that. Our bath repair starts from £95. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing typically costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

What you get with us

  • Generally one visit, start to finish
  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface

Landlords, agents and businesses in Basted

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Repairs by material

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, finished with fired enamel. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, so it’s always worth repairing.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Snagging damage from a refit
  • A failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting
  • Cracks in an acrylic bath
  • A chip where the taps sit
