How we handle bath repair in Baulking
We repair enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic baths. The method changes with the material: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. We are frequently asked to fix snagging damage from a refit and a hole punched through by something heavy, across pressed steel enamel, cast iron enamel and acrylic.
You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we will sort it.

What your bath is made of matters
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

Prices and what affects them
Repairs from £95. We give every job a fixed price from photos. This is what makes a difference:
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- The material
A repair generally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
Quotes from your pictures
Phone photos are fine. Just ensure we can see:
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- The material, if you know it
- Natural light rather than flash
- Details of any past repairs
Email us a picture of the damage and one of the entire item, with your SN7 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

Signs you need bath repair in Baulking
Baths take more knocks than people expect: bottles, shower heads and razors are dropped every day, and taps and wastes are tightened against the surface. Sooner or later, most baths pick up a chip.
Keep an eye out for these signs:
- Scratches you can feel with a fingernail
- An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
- Chips under the taps
- Chips on the rim or sides

Baulking: your questions answered
Will I be able to see the repair?
The goal is a repair that blends in. How well it disappears depends on the condition of the rest of the bath, and we’ll tell you what to expect.
What do you need from me?
Photos of the damage, a photo of the entire bath and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.
Is there a call-out fee?
We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.
Is a bath repair permanent?
A properly prepared repair should last a long time, and ours come with a one-year guarantee. Gentle cleaning helps it last.
Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?
In most cases. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so we need access under the bath.
Can you repair a hole in a bath?
In most cases. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.
What happens after I send photos?
You get a fixed price and available dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.
Why repair rather than replace?
Swapping a damaged bath for a new one normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and getting rid of the old bath. Repairing it fixes just the damaged area in a single visit. Prices start from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Work for landlords and builders
We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we will arrange it.
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Baulking as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.
How it works
Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you’re not left guessing. Once we are there, the work takes two to three hours for most chips in most cases. The room is left tidy and ready to use once it has cured.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.
Preparing for the visit
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
Getting a price
Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them to us with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. There’s no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.
Related advice
Keeping it looking good
So the finish stays in good condition for years:
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
- Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
- Do not scrub with anything abrasive
- Rinse it down after each bath
For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath.
Don’t leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.
