Bath repair at your home in Booth

Bath repair is our most common job. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all repaired in place, normally in one visit. We’re often asked to fix a cracked acrylic bath and a hole punched through by something heavy, on pressed steel enamel, cast iron enamel and whirlpool & spa baths.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, so it’s always worth repairing.

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

For landlords and businesses

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Booth as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

Hospitality businesses cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

When to call us in Booth

The usual cause is something heavy dropped into the bath, and building work is a common culprit. Cracks in acrylic have a different cause: the bath isn’t properly supported, so it flexes under weight.

Most people get in touch when they notice something like this:

  • Chips along the edge of the bath
  • Rust by the waste and overflow
  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface
  • Cracks in an acrylic bath

What your quote should include

  • Who turns up on the day
  • How your room will be protected
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
  • How long it needs to cure

How to compare quotes

Repairing versus replacing in Booth

Replacing a fitted bath usually means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and disposing of the old one. Repairing it fixes just the damaged area in a single visit. Prices start from £95. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Why us?

  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • One price list for the whole UK

When a repair isn’t the answer

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • A steel bath rusted through
  • Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

What happens on the day

Arrival times are agreed in advance. Once we are there, the work takes a few hours in most cases. We leave the room clean.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.

Before we arrive

  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Advice

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. We don’t charge extra for travel to Booth. The price comes down to:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The size and number of damaged areas

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Send photos for a quote

Two or three clear pictures are normally enough. Try to include:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • The material, if you know it
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. There is no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

DIY kit or professional repair?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.
