Bath repair in Broxted, done in place
A typical bath repair is a few hours’ work, and you can normally bathe again the following day. There’s no need to book a plumber or tiler, because the bath doesn’t move. We regularly repair cast iron enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and acrylic, and people most often call us about chips along the edge of the bath and rust by the waste and overflow.
All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee.

Why repair rather than replace?
Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

How we price bath repair
Repairs from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:
- The material
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- The colour and finish to match
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Broxted. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
How to get a fixed quote
Photographing the damage takes a minute. Try to send:
- Natural light rather than flash
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- What it’s made of, if you know
Send us a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your CM6 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

What else we do in Broxted
Landlord and trade work in Broxted
For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
Broxted: your questions answered
Are you a vetted contractor?
We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.
How soon can you come?
We will give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.
Is a bath repair permanent?
Yes, if it’s prepared properly and the bath is sound. It carries our one-year guarantee.
Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?
Generally, yes, if we can reach behind it. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.
What if the damage is worse than the photos show?
We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes, for a year. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
Is it messy?
Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.
What happens on the day
Visits start with a quick look at the job together. Then the area is sheeted and masked and we start. Allow a few hours, depending on the damage, and we will tell you if anything changes.
- We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.
Getting ready for the visit
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Keep a parking space free if you can
How to get a price
There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Honest limits
To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:
- Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath
- Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
- Metal that has corroded all the way through
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.
Materials we repair
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Acrylic
- Pressed steel enamel
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Cast iron enamel
Different materials, different repairs
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.
DIY kit or professional repair?
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
What we are called out for in Broxted
Glass and heavy bottles cause more chips than anything else, closely followed by shower heads. Taps and wastes cause problems too: water collects there, so chips nearby rust quickly.
Keep an eye out for any of the following:
- Deep scratches in acrylic
- Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
- A chipped rim or side
- Chips under the taps
What to look for in a quote
- Aftercare advice
- What happens if they find more damage
- Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
- When it can be used again
