Honest limits

Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:

  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Materials we work on in Canklow

Bath repair at your home in Canklow

A typical bath repair is a few hours’ work, and you can normally bathe again the following day. There’s no need to book a plumber or tiler, because the bath does not move. Whether it’s hairline or through cracks in acrylic and scratches you can feel with a fingernail, we can normally put it right, on cast iron enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and acrylic alike.

Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

Before and after: a chipped, rust-stained bath around the plughole

Aftercare tips

Looking after the surface is easy:

  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • Ensure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
  • Do not leave razors or cans standing in the bath

Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and try not to drop heavy bottles on the repair. Deal with new chips early, before rust sets in.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and it can start to leak underneath.

Repairing versus replacing in Canklow

Replacing a fitted bath generally means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and disposing of the old one. Repairing it fixes just the damaged area in a single visit. Prices start from £95. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Canklow. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

What you get with us

  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • No extra charge for your area
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • Colour mixed on the day to match

Landlord and trade work in Canklow

For anyone letting property in or around Canklow, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send photos for each address and we will come back with a combined price.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

How the visit works

We agree an arrival time beforehand. Once we are there, the work takes a few hours in most cases. The room is left tidy.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, generally the following day.

Before we arrive

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Questions from Canklow

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it is not worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

Is a bath repair durable?

Done properly, a repair lasts for years, and ours come with a one-year guarantee. Gentle cleaning helps.

Will the repair show?

The goal is a repair that blends in. The rest of the bath’s condition makes a difference.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.

Will the price change on the day?

Your quote covers the damage in the pictures. If there’s more, we will tell you before starting.

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Do you need bath repair in Canklow?

Acrylic baths that crack nearly always have a support problem. Loose legs, no proper cradle or a floor that gives let the bath move.

Send us a picture if you notice any of these:

  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
  • Deep scratches in acrylic
  • Holes from dropped items
  • A cracked acrylic bath

What to look for in a quote

  • When it can be used again
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price

Choosing a repair company

Can I fix it myself?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

What affects the price in Canklow

Repairs from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Canklow. The price reflects:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How many items we do on one visit

The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Send pictures for a quote

Two or three clear pictures are usually enough. It helps if you send:

  • Any details about the material
  • A photo taken from further back
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Where you are, by postcode

You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.
