Trusted bath repair in Chillington

The process

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. Most jobs take two to three hours for most chips, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can generally use the bath the following day.

Before we arrive

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

How to get a price

Bath repair in Chillington without replacing anything

Repairing baths is what we do most. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all repaired in place, normally in a single visit. We regularly repair whirlpool & spa baths, acrylic and roll-top & freestanding, and common reasons people get in touch are chips on the rim or sides and a cracked acrylic bath.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

Before and after: a damaged acrylic bath corner repaired in place

Aftercare tips

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning

Use gentle, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Deal with new chips early, before rust sets in.

Avoid standing in a cracked acrylic bath until it’s fixed. Every use opens the crack a little more, and water can get through to the floor below.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

Repair or replace: which is better?

If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and you keep the bath you chose. Where the whole surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Our bath repair starts from £95. We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Why book with us

  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Colour mixed on the day to match

Different materials, different repairs

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, just like other baths.

When we’d advise against a repair

Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic

For landlords and businesses

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Chillington questions

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes, frequently. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.

Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?

Yes, we match coloured baths too. We tint the finish to your bath on site.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.

Do you work in Chillington?

We do. Repair technicians travel to Chillington from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Will I be able to see the repair?

On a glossy bath, you will struggle to find it. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.

What do you need from me?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The material and finish
  • How much damage there is

Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Quotes from your pictures

You can take the photos on your phone. Just ensure we can see:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Email us a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your TA19 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.
