How we handle bath repair in East Mains
You do not need a new bath because of a chip. Our technicians fill, shape and refinish the damage, mixing the colour on the day. We work on acrylic, pressed steel enamel and roll-top & freestanding, and people most frequently call us about rust spots around the plughole and chips along the edge of the bath.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

What a repair cannot fix
We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair will not do:
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
- Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
- Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Repairing versus replacing in East Mains
Replacing a fitted bath normally involves a plumber, lifting out the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and getting rid of the old bath. A repair fixes just the damaged area in one visit. Our bath repair starts from £95. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.
Why us?
- Colour mixed on the day to match
- Typically one visit, start to finish
- CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
- A year’s guarantee on all work

East Mains questions
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just make sure the landlord agrees.
Do you cover East Mains?
Yes, we do. We send a technician to East Mains for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.
Is a bath repair permanent?
It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It carries our one-year guarantee.
What happens after I send photos?
You will get a fixed quote back, plus dates. There is no obligation to book.
Do you charge for travel?
Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?
Usually, yes, if we can reach behind it. We back the hole, fill it and refinish the surface.
How long before I can use the bath?
Normally by the following day, though it depends on what we have done.
DIY kit or professional repair?
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
When to call us in East Mains
Acrylic baths that crack nearly always have a support problem. Loose legs, no proper cradle or a floor that gives let the bath move until the acrylic gives way.
Get in touch if you’ve noticed:
- Rust spots around the plughole
- Chips under the taps
- Chips along the edge of the bath
- A failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting
What your quote should include
- Whether they match the colour on site
- What the guarantee covers, and for how long
- How long it needs to cure
- What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
How it works
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. It typically takes two to three hours for most chips, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
- We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
- We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
- We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
- We leave it to cure; you can normally use the bath the following day.
Preparing for the visit
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
- Make sure the room can be ventilated
- Clear the area around the damage
Ask for a price
Send us pictures of the damage and one of the whole item, with your G74 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.
Advice
Looking after it afterwards
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:
- Do not leave razors or cans standing in the bath
- If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
- Have new chips seen to early
- Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine.
Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.
Prices and what affects them
Repairs from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- Doing more than one item at once
- The size and number of damaged areas
- How easy the damage is to reach
Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
How to get a fixed quote
Phone pictures are fine, there’s no need for anything special. Just make sure we can see:
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- One picture of the whole bath
- Any details about the material
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
We price from pictures so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.
