Bath repair near Eaton

Bath repair in Eaton, done in place

Small damage on a bath is worth repairing early. On steel and cast iron, exposed metal starts to rust, while cracks in acrylic grow each time the bath moves. A repair stops both. We regularly repair acrylic, roll-top & freestanding and whirlpool & spa baths, and the jobs we see most are deep scratches in acrylic and rust by the waste and overflow.

All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Cheshire West and Chester.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

When we’d advise against a repair

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Questions from Eaton

Is a bath repair permanent?

It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It carries our one-year guarantee.

How invisible is a bath repair?

On a bath in good condition, a colour matched repair is very hard to spot. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.

Can pets and children be at home?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Do you work in Eaton?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and travel to Eaton and the rest of Cheshire West and Chester. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

What information do you need?

Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, access to the room.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

Can rust on a bath be repaired?

Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Yes. We take out the old repair and do it properly. Mention it when you send pictures.

How the visit works

From the moment we arrive, we keep the work contained to the one room. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes two to three hours for most chips, depending on what we find, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Open a window if you can
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Ask for a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.

Signs you need bath repair in Eaton

Nearly all the chips we see start with something being dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On steel and cast iron baths, a chip that reaches the metal will start to rust.

Customers typically contact us about:

  • A failed DIY repair that is discoloured or lifting
  • Rust spots around the plughole
  • Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted
  • A chip where the taps sit

How to compare quotes

What affects the price in Eaton

Prices start from £95. Each job gets its own fixed price. These are the things that affect it:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The material
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Access to the area

Compared with replacing, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Quotes from your pictures

Phone pictures are fine. Make sure they show:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • The material, if you know it

Upload a photo of the damage and one of the whole item, with your CW6 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

Repairing versus replacing in Eaton

A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it’s done in one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. A repair generally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we will give you the exact figure.

Looking after it afterwards

A little care keeps the finish looking good. We recommend:

  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • Ensure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine, avoiding abrasives.

Rust spreads under enamel faster than most people expect. A chip the size of a fingernail can become a much larger patch if it’s left for months, so early repair keeps the cost down.

What your bath is made of matters

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
