About our bath repair in Etruria
A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which is far cheaper than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. Most baths can be used again the following day. We work on roll-top & freestanding, acrylic and whirlpool & spa baths, and the jobs we see most are chips caused by builders and rusty patches near the plughole.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

What we cannot put right
We would rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:
- Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath
- A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
- A steel bath rusted through
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before booking.
What we work on
- Cast iron enamel
- Pressed steel enamel
- Acrylic
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Whirlpool & spa baths
What we do, step by step
We agree an arrival time beforehand. Once we are there, the work takes a morning or an afternoon in most cases. We leave the room clean and you’ll know when it can be used.
- We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
- The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
- The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
- Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
- Once it has cured, normally by the next day, the bath is ready to use.
Preparing for the visit
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Ensure the room can be ventilated
How to get a price
You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.
Advice
Prices and what affects them
Repairs from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Etruria. The price reflects:
- The material
- Doing more than one item at once
- Unusual colours or finishes
- The size and number of damaged areas
It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.
Quotes from your photos
You can take the photos on your phone. Just make sure we can see:
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- Something in shot to show the size
- Any details about the material
Send us photos of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your ST1 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Looking after it afterwards
A little care keeps the finish looking good. Our advice:
- Don’t scrub with anything abrasive
- Give the bath a quick rinse after use
- Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
- Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
Use gentle, non-abrasive cleaners and try not to drop heavy bottles on the repair. Deal with new chips early, before rust can start.
Don’t leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.
Etruria: your questions answered
What happens after I send pictures?
We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote and the next dates we have.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just make sure the landlord agrees.
Is a bath repair durable?
Done properly, a repair lasts for years, and ours come with a one-year guarantee. Gentle cleaning helps it last.
Is it messy?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.
What information do you need?
Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.
Can you quote from pictures?
Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.
Is the work guaranteed?
Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.
Work for landlords and builders
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Etruria as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.
Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
Different materials, different repairs
Cast iron
Cast iron is heavy and rigid, finished with fired enamel. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, so it’s always worth repairing.
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.
Repairing versus replacing in Etruria
Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. A repair keeps it in place. Our bath repair starts from £95. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

DIY kit or professional repair?
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
