Bath repair for Ewshot homes

Bath repair in Ewshot, done in place

Bath repair is our most common job. Chips on the rim, rust around the waste and cracks in acrylic are all repaired in place, generally in a single visit. We are often asked to fix hairline or through cracks in acrylic and scuffs and scratches in the surface, across whirlpool & spa baths, pressed steel enamel and roll-top & freestanding.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

How to look after the repair

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
  • Store metal items away from the bath

Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Get any new chip seen to quickly, before rust can start.

Rust under enamel spreads surprisingly quickly. A chip the size of a fingernail can become a much larger patch if it’s left for months, so it pays to deal with it early.

How it works

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which typically takes two to three hours for most chips. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.

  1. We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can generally use the bath the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Ewshot questions

Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?

Normally, yes, if we can reach the underside to reinforce it. Take off the bath panel and check, or send us a photo.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. If pictures do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Can you redo an old repair?

Yes. We take out the old repair and do it properly. Tell us about it when you send pictures.

When can you do it?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners.

How much does bath repair cost in Ewshot?

Prices start from £95. Because every job differs, we price from photos. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

Do the materials smell?

It depends on the job, but often a little. Open windows and an extractor fan help.

Different materials, different repairs

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, in much the same way.

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Honest limits

It helps to know what we cannot do too:

  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, photos and access details and we’ll handle the rest.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Surrey and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Repair or replace in Ewshot?

For damage in one or two places, a repair is the obvious choice. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it takes one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why us?

  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • No need to remove anything
  • Typically one visit, start to finish
