Need bath repair in Fullwell Cross?

What your bath is made of matters

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is what we repair.

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Exposed steel rusts fast, particularly by the plughole, so repair chips early.

Bath repair in Fullwell Cross, done in place

We repair just the damaged spot and colour-match it to the bath, which is far cheaper than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. Most baths can be used again the day after. Typical jobs include chips along the edge of the bath and an old repair that has yellowed or come loose, on whirlpool & spa baths, acrylic and cast iron enamel.

Every job is backed for twelve months in Fullwell Cross and everywhere else. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Repair or replace in Fullwell Cross?

For damage in one or two places, a repair is the obvious choice. It’s a fraction of the cost of a new bath and fitting, it takes one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Fullwell Cross. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Fullwell Cross: your questions answered

When can you do it?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Will it make a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

Are there extra charges for Fullwell Cross?

We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

Will I be able to see the repair?

On a glossy bath, you will struggle to find it. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.

Can you fix rust around the plughole?

Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Tell us about it when you send photos.

Do I need to be at home?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

How do I book?

Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.

What we do, step by step

Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and tidy away. Plan for a few hours, depending on the damage from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and how to look after it.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

Advice

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The colour and finish to match

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Getting a price from pictures

Two or three clear pictures are normally enough. Try to include:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Details of any past repairs
  • What it’s made of, if you know

For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.

When a repair isn’t the answer

We will not take on work that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • A steel bath rusted through
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel

Aftercare tips

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Do not scrub with anything abrasive
  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent

Treat the repaired area like the rest of the bath: a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.

Small chips are quick to repair. Left alone, they stain and can rust, so early repair saves time and money.

Do you need bath repair in Fullwell Cross?

Damage during fitting is very common. Tools, tiles and fittings get dropped into the bath, often before anyone notices. We repair snagging damage like this regularly.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • A chip where the taps sit
  • A kit repair that didn’t last
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • A hole punched through by something heavy

What your quote should include

  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • How long it needs to cure

Choosing a repair company

Can I fix it myself?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
