Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you know when to expect us. Once we are there, the work takes two to three hours for most chips in most cases. The room is left tidy and you’ll know when it can be used.
- First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
- Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
- The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

When to call us in Godalming
Most bath damage comes from something dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On steel and cast iron baths, any chip down to the metal will start to rust.
People typically call us after spotting one of these:
- A chip where the taps sit
- An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
- A cracked acrylic bath
- Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted
What your quote should include
- How your room will be protected
- The length of the guarantee and what it covers
- Whether the price covers travel
- Whether a trained technician does the job
For landlords and businesses
For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip.
Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Surrey and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.
When we’d advise against a repair
We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:
- A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
- Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Common questions in Godalming
Can you redo an old repair?
Yes, we do this frequently. We strip it out, deal with any rust and repair it again.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
Is there any odour?
Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.
Do you hold any accreditations?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
What areas do you cover?
We cover the entire UK, including Godalming and the rest of Surrey. Just include your postcode and we will offer you dates.
Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?
In most cases. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so access behind the panel is important.
Do you charge for travel?
Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Looking after it afterwards
Most damage we see is avoidable. These habits help:
- A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
- Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
- Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
There is nothing special to do after a repair, just sensible cleaning. Avoid bleach-based and gritty cleaners and rinse after use.
Don’t leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.
Should you replace it?
Replacing a bath rarely stops at the bath: tiles along the rim typically crack when it comes out, a new panel is often needed, and the plumbing has to be disconnected and refitted. A repair skips all of it. Our bath repair starts from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Why book with us
- Dust sheets down, tidy finish
- Straight answers about what a repair can do
- Most jobs done in one visit
- No need to remove anything

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
