Bath repair near Halls Green

Bath repair at your home in Halls Green

It pays to repair bath damage while it’s small. On steel and cast iron, exposed metal starts to rust, and on acrylic, a crack keeps spreading while the bath flexes. A repair stops both. If you’re dealing with rust by the waste and overflow and a hole punched through by something heavy, we can help, on roll-top & freestanding, cast iron enamel and pressed steel enamel alike.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months in Halls Green and everywhere else. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. Chips can rust if left, but the bath itself lasts for generations, which makes it well worth repairing.

Repairing versus replacing in Halls Green

If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and the bathroom stays as it is. If the entire surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we will tell you. Prices start from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Why book with us

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • Colour-matched on site

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. You’ll know the full cost before you book. We take into account:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How much damage there is

A repair typically costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

How to get a fixed price

Before you send pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.

DIY kit or professional repair?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

When to call us in Halls Green

Baths take more knocks than people expect: bottles, shower heads and razors are dropped every day, and taps and wastes are tightened against the surface. Over time, chips and rust spots are almost inevitable.

Most people contact us after spotting one of these:

  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
  • Holes from dropped items
  • Chips caused by builders
  • Rust by the waste and overflow

What to look for in a quote

  • What aftercare is recommended
  • When it can be used again
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • How the room is protected while they work

Halls Green questions

Will there be a smell?

There may be a mild smell during the work.

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

Most of the time. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so access behind the panel is important.

Are you accredited?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Which areas do you work in?

Everywhere in the UK, Halls Green included. Travel is included in the price.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit typically costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.

Can you redo an old repair?

Regularly. We strip it out, deal with any rust and repair it again.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.

What we cannot put right

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Acrylic

Looking after it afterwards

Most damage we see is avoidable. These habits help:

  • Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
  • Do not leave razors or cans standing in the bath
  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use

Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before using the bath. From then on, mild cleaning is all it needs.

Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, to keep water out. Remove it before the repair.

How it works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, do the job and tidy away. Allow a few hours, depending on the damage from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the day after.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Getting a price

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole bath, we can price the job the same day in most cases.
