Bath repair in Harrington, done in place
Whatever has happened to the bath, we aim for the same result: a smooth, solid repair that blends in. We prepare the area properly, fill and shape it, then match the colour and gloss so it’s level with the surrounding surface. We work on cast iron enamel, pressed steel enamel and acrylic, and the jobs we see most are an old repair that has yellowed or come loose and a hole punched through by something heavy.
You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before booking.

Harrington: your questions answered
Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?
Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including older coloured suites.
Do the materials smell?
There can be some smell while we work. It fades as everything cures.
Can you quote from photos?
Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.
Can pets and children be at home?
Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll let you know when it’s safe to use again.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses in Harrington.
How long does the repair take to cure?
Most baths can be used the following day. We confirm the time before we leave.
Do you work in Harrington?
Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Harrington and the rest of Northamptonshire. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
What happens once I’ve sent photos?
We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote and the next dates we have.
How the visit works
The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we’re there. Protection goes down first, then the work takes a morning or an afternoon. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to look after it.
- First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
- The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
- We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
- We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
- The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the next day.
Preparing for the visit
- Point us to the nearest place to park
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.
Related advice
How we price bath repair
Repairs from £95. You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:
- How much damage there is
- How hard the colour is to match
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- The material
We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
Getting a price from photos
Phone pictures are fine, there is no need for anything special. Just ensure we can see:
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you will get a fixed quote back. Quotes are free and no obligation.
Honest limits
We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair will not do:
- Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
- A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.
Materials we repair
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Pressed steel enamel
- Acrylic
- Cast iron enamel
- Whirlpool & spa baths
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Acrylic
Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Repair or replace: which is better?
Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Compared with replacing, repairing generally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
Why us?
- We leave the room as we found it
- Nothing taken out or refitted
- One price list for the entire UK
- CHAS and Constructionline accredited

Looking after it afterwards
Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:
- Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
- Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
- Have new chips seen to early
Care for the repair the same way as the bath: a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.
A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.

Signs you need bath repair in Harrington
The usual cause is something heavy dropped into the bath, and building work is a common culprit. Cracks in acrylic have a different cause: the bath isn’t properly supported, so it flexes under weight.
These are the problems we’re asked about most:
- Rust by the waste and overflow
- Damage beneath the taps
- Chips along the edge of the bath
- Deep scratches in acrylic
What your quote should include
- How long the guarantee is and what it covers
- How to look after the finish
- What preparation is included
- Who turns up on the day

Should I try a DIY kit first?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
