Bath repair for Holme Wood homes

Bath repair in Holme Wood without replacing anything

Chips, cracks, rust spots and small holes can be repaired with the bath left exactly where it is. There is no plumbing to disconnect, your tiles stay as they are, and the finish is matched to the rest of the bath. We work on whirlpool & spa baths, pressed steel enamel and cast iron enamel, and common reasons people contact us are a chip where the taps sit and hairline or through cracks in acrylic.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: tiles along the rim typically crack when it comes out, a new panel is often needed, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. A repair skips all of it. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Questions from Holme Wood

Will I be able to see the repair?

We aim for a repair you can’t easily find. How well it disappears depends on the condition of the rest of the bath, and we will tell you what to expect.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

Are there extra charges for Holme Wood?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

What about rust by the waste?

Yes, it’s one of the most common repairs we do. The rust is cut back to clean metal and sealed before we fill and finish it.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include pictures of each item.

Is my repair covered?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

Frequently, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a photo.

Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?

Frequently, if there’s access underneath. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.

Aftercare tips

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • Rinse it down after each bath
  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth

Keep metal objects like razors and cans off the surface, because they can mark the enamel. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

Small chips are quick to repair. Leave them and they collect dirt, stain and, on metal baths, rust, so early repair saves time and money.

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The type of damage
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How much damage there is

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.

Getting a price from pictures

Phone photos are fine. Just make sure we can see:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • One picture of the entire bath

Upload a photo of the damage and one of the whole item, with your BD4 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

How it works

Once we’re through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes a few hours, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Getting a price

We price from pictures so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.

Advice

When we would advise against a repair

To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

Should I try a DIY kit first?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
