About our bath repair in King's Stag
A damaged bath does not have to mean a new bathroom. Our technicians fill, shape and refinish the damage, with the colour mixed on site so the repair is hard to spot. We’re often asked to fix a hole punched through by something heavy and chips on the rim or sides, across acrylic, roll-top & freestanding and pressed steel enamel.
All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee.

Repairing versus replacing in King's Stag
Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: they’re very heavy to remove, especially upstairs, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Prices start from £95. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

How we price bath repair
Prices start from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:
- The colour and finish to match
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- The material
- The size and number of damaged areas
A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before you book.
How to get a fixed price
Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- Where you are, by postcode
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- One picture of the entire bath
If you are in King's Stag and want a price, the easiest route is pictures: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.
Work for landlords and builders
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.
Signs you need bath repair in King's Stag
A cracked acrylic bath generally wasn’t supported properly. Loose legs, no proper cradle or a floor that gives let the base flex.
The most common problems we are called about are:
- Chips under the taps
- Chips on the rim or sides
- Rusty patches near the plughole
- Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
What to look for in a quote
- What protection goes down before work starts
- Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
- What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
- How long it needs to cure
What we do, step by step
It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, cover and mask the work area, and get on with the job, which typically takes a few hours. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we’ll explain it before carrying on.
- We protect the bath and the floor around it.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- We match both the colour and the shine.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the next day.
Getting ready for the visit
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

King's Stag questions
Do you cover King's Stag?
Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to King's Stag. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
When can I have a bath again?
Normally by the following day, though it depends on what we have done.
Can you redo an old repair?
Yes. We take out the old repair and do it properly. Tell us about it when you send pictures.
Can rust on a bath be repaired?
Yes. We take out the rust and any loose enamel, fill the area, then colour-match the finish.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.
Are you a vetted contractor?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
Will I be able to see the repair?
On a bath in good condition, a colour-matched repair is very hard to spot. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.
Is a bath repair permanent?
It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It carries our one-year guarantee.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.
What your bath is made of matters
Acrylic
Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.
Cast iron
Cast iron is heavy and rigid, finished with fired enamel. Chips can rust if left, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, so it’s always worth repairing.
What we can’t put right
A repair is not always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:
- Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath
- A steel bath rusted through
- A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.
