Bath repair at your home in Maxey

Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. The method changes with the material: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. Typical jobs include a cracked acrylic bath and deep scratches in acrylic, in acrylic, whirlpool & spa baths and roll-top & freestanding.

FAQs for Maxey

Do you cover Maxey?

Yes, we do. Technicians travel to Maxey from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

What do you need from me?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

How much does bath repair cost in Maxey?

Prices start from £95. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from photos. You’ll get a fixed figure before you book.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Can you quote from photos?

Typically, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

When can you do it?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

What happens if you find more damage?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

What affects the price in Maxey

Repairs from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Maxey. The price reflects:

  • What the surface is made of
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The size and number of damaged areas

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Maxey. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Send photos for a quote

You can usually get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • One picture of the whole bath
  • Something in shot to show the size

We price from pictures so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

Can I fix it myself?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

What your bath is made of matters

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, in much the same way.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is what we repair.

Landlord and trade work in Maxey

Letting agents frequently send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

How to care for the repair

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • Check that an acrylic bath doesn’t move when you stand in it
  • Store metal items away from the bath

Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Deal with new chips early, before rust can start.

Rust spreads under enamel faster than most people expect. Left for months, a small chip can grow into a large rust patch, so it pays to deal with it early.

Repairing versus replacing in Maxey

Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Prices start from £95. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Why us?

  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Nothing taken out or refitted

Take a look at our prices page or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

Honest limits

A repair is not always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

What we work on

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

The process

From the moment we arrive, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes two to three hours for most chips, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, generally the next day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Getting a price

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
