Bath repair in Muscliff without replacing anything

Small damage on a bath is worth repairing early. Exposed metal on enamelled baths soon rusts, and on acrylic, a crack keeps spreading while the bath flexes. A repair stops both. Typical jobs include damage done while the bathroom was being fitted and a hole punched through by something heavy, in whirlpool & spa baths, pressed steel enamel and cast iron enamel.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book.

Repair or replace in Muscliff?

Replacing a fitted bath normally means a plumber, removing the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and disposing of the old one. A repair fixes just the damaged area in one visit. Our bath repair starts from £95. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

What you get with us

  • Generally one visit, start to finish
  • Colour-matched on site
  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. Prices are worked out job by job, from your pictures. What matters most is:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Access to the area
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

How to get a fixed price

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • One picture of the whole bath

Email us pictures of the damage and one of the whole item, and tell us you are in Muscliff, and we will reply with a fixed price.

Can I fix it myself?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Aftercare tips

How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners

Keep metal objects like razors and cans off the surface, as they can leave rust marks. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath until it’s repaired. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.

What we can’t put right

Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. We can’t fix:

  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic
  • Pressed steel enamel

Different materials, different repairs

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They don’t rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

How it works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take a morning or an afternoon, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
