Bath repair for Outlane homes

Can I fix it myself?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

About our bath repair in Outlane

Whatever the damage, the aim is the same: a smooth, solid repair that blends in. We prepare the area properly, fill and shape it, then match the colour and gloss so it sits flush with the rest of the bath. We regularly repair acrylic, cast iron enamel and roll-top & freestanding, and common reasons people get in touch are hairline or through cracks in acrylic and a hole punched through by something heavy.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Should you replace it?

People frequently assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. In most cases it does not: a repair keeps the bath in service for years, without the cost and upheaval of replacing it. Prices start from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Exposed steel rusts fast, particularly by the plughole, so early repairs matter.

What we do, step by step

Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and clear up. Allow two to three hours for most chips. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and how to look after it.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
