Bath repair at your home in Owlsmoor

Chips, cracks, rust spots and small holes can be repaired with the bath left exactly where it is. There’s no plumbing to disconnect, the tiles aren’t touched, and the finish is matched to the rest of the bath. Typical jobs include a hole punched through by something heavy and rust by the waste and overflow, on pressed steel enamel, acrylic and whirlpool & spa baths.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee.

Aftercare tips

So the finish stays in good condition:

  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
  • Have new chips seen to early
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early

Keep metal objects like razors and cans off the surface, as they can leave rust marks. And fix dripping taps promptly.

If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath until it’s repaired. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, the panel may not fit the new one, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. A repair skips all of it. Our bath repair starts from £95. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

What you get with us

  • No extra charge for your area
  • Typically one visit, start to finish
  • No need to remove anything
  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing

Do you need bath repair in Owlsmoor?

Nearly all the chips we see start with something being dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On enamelled baths, a chip that reaches the metal will start to rust.

You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:

  • A chipped rim or side
  • Deep scratches in acrylic
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted

What your quote should include

  • When it can be used again
  • Aftercare advice
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • How changes to the job are handled

How to compare quotes

What we cannot put right

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we repair

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so repair chips early.

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

How it works

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which normally takes a few hours. If anything looks different from your photos, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.

  1. First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Open a window if you can
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

How to get a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

Advice

DIY repairs versus a professional job

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

What bath repair costs

Prices start from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • How many areas need work
  • The type of damage
  • The colour and finish to match

Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Quotes from your photos

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To help us price it:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Any details about the material

Email us photos of the damage and one of the whole item, with your GU47 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
