Bath repair near Park Town

Work for landlords and builders

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Park Town use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

How we handle bath repair in Park Town

Whatever has happened to the bath, we aim for the same result: a smooth, solid repair that blends in. We prepare the area properly, fill and shape it, then match the colour and gloss so it sits flush with the rest of the bath. If you’re dealing with rust by the waste and overflow and hairline or through cracks in acrylic, we can help.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard.

Before and after: a damaged acrylic bath corner repaired in place

DIY kit or professional repair?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

Why repair rather than replace?

When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and you keep the bath you chose. Where the whole surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Our bath repair starts from £95. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why us?

  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • No extra charge for your area
  • Work done at your home or business
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor

Looking after it afterwards

Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:

  • Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners

Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, because they can mark the enamel. And fix dripping taps promptly.

Rust spreads under enamel faster than most people expect. A chip the size of a fingernail can become a much larger patch if it’s left for months, so it pays to deal with it early.

How the visit works

We begin by going over the job with you, so there are no surprises. Then the area is sheeted and masked and we start. It normally takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and we will tell you if anything changes.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the next day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. Each job gets its own fixed quote. These are the things that affect it:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • What the surface is made of

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before booking, with no extras added later.

Quotes from your photos

Photographing the damage takes a minute. Please include:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. There is no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

What we can’t put right

We’d rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:

  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.
