Whatever has happened to the bath, we aim for the same result: a repair that’s smooth, sound and hard to spot. Proper preparation, careful filling and shaping, then colour and gloss matching so it sits flush with the rest of the bath. A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are not left on your own once we’ve gone.

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Penrhos. The price reflects:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • What kind of damage it is

Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

Getting a price from photos

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Try to send:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Where you are, by postcode

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

DIY kit or professional repair?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Aftercare tips

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
  • Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath

There’s nothing special to do after a repair. Skip bleach and gritty creams and rinse after use.

Do not leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.

Your questions about bath repair in Penrhos

Do I have to be there?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You do not need to watch us work.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Is a bath repair permanent?

Done properly, a repair lasts for years, and ours come with a one-year guarantee. Gentle cleaning helps.

Is my repair covered?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Do the materials smell?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.

How soon can you come?

We will give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

Typically, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a picture.

Repairing versus replacing in Penrhos

A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: tiles along the rim normally crack when it comes out, the panel may not fit the new one, and the plumbing has to be disconnected and refitted. A repair skips all of it. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

How it works

You do not need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. It usually takes a morning or an afternoon, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the next day.

How to prepare

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Ask for a price

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. There’s no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.

What we can’t put right

It helps to know what we can’t do too:

  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
  • A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is what we repair.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, in much the same way.

What we are called out for in Penrhos

Acrylic baths that crack nearly always have a support problem. Legs that are not adjusted, a missing cradle or a soft floor let the base flex until it cracks.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • A chipped rim or side
  • Snagging damage from a refit
  • Holes from dropped items
  • A cracked acrylic bath

What your quote should include

  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • If travel is included in the price
  • Whether they match the colour on site
