Need bath repair in Portrush?

What affects the price in Portrush

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Portrush. The price reflects:

  • What the surface is made of
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The size and number of damaged areas

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Getting a price from pictures

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what to send:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.

About our bath repair in Portrush

Whatever has happened to the bath, we aim for the same result: a repair that’s smooth, sound and hard to spot. Proper preparation, careful filling and shaping, then colour and gloss matching so it sits flush with the rest of the bath. If you are dealing with damage done while the bathroom was being fitted and deep scratches in acrylic, we can normally put it right, whatever the material.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months in Portrush and everywhere else. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

How the visit works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and start once you are happy with the plan. Most jobs take a few hours, depending on the damage, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Open a window if you can

What your bath is made of matters

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, just like other baths.

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Chips rust quickly on steel, particularly by the plughole, so early repairs matter.

Questions from Portrush

What happens next?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

What information do you need?

Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Are you accredited?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Is my repair covered?

Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Do the materials smell?

A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

Can you fix rust around the plughole?

Yes, very frequently. We take it back to sound metal, seal it, fill it and match the colour.

What we’re called out for in Portrush

A cracked acrylic bath usually wasn’t supported properly. Legs that are not adjusted, a missing cradle or a soft floor let the base flex until the acrylic gives way.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • Chips caused by builders
  • Rust spots around the plughole
  • A hole punched through by something heavy
  • A cracked acrylic bath

Looking after it afterwards

To keep it looking its best:

  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath

Give the repair the full curing time we recommend before running a bath. After that, gentle cleaning keeps it looking good.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Every use opens the crack a little more, and water can get through to the floor below.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: tiles along the rim generally crack when it comes out, the panel may not fit the new one, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. Repairing the damage avoids all of that. Prices start from £95. We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Why us?

  • Everything repaired in place
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures

DIY kit or professional repair?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
