Need bath repair in Portskewett?

Work for landlords and builders

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Bath repair at your home in Portskewett

Whatever the damage, the aim is the same: a smooth, solid repair that blends in. We prepare the area properly, fill and shape it, then match the colour and gloss so it sits flush with the rest of the bath. Whether it’s chips on the rim or sides and rust by the waste and overflow, we can usually put it right.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book.

Before and after: a chipped, rust-stained bath around the plughole

Honest limits

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
  • Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Acrylic

Should you replace it?

When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and the bathroom stays as it is. If the whole surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we will tell you. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You will see the full price before booking, with no extras added later.

Why book with us

  • One visit for most repairs
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • A year’s guarantee on all work

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Exposed steel rusts fast, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, with a fused enamel surface. Chips can rust if left, but the bath itself lasts for generations, so it’s always worth repairing.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

The process

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so there are no surprises. Then the area is sheeted and masked and we start. You can expect it to take a few hours, and we’ll tell you if anything changes.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. Once it has cured, typically by the following day, the bath is ready to use.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

Looking after it afterwards

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
  • Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath

Give the repair the full curing time we recommend before running a bath. After that, gentle cleaning keeps it looking good.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Every use opens the crack a little more, and water can get through to the floor below.

Questions from Portskewett

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Most of the time. Tell us what was done before.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit typically costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

Do you work in Portskewett?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and come to Portskewett. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?

Often, if there’s access underneath. We back the hole, fill it and refinish the surface.

Will I be able to see the repair?

On a glossy bath, you will struggle to find it. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.

Is a bath repair permanent?

It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It carries our one-year guarantee.

What affects the price in Portskewett

Repairs from £95. There’s no area surcharge for Portskewett. What changes the price is:

  • Access to the area
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The material and finish
  • Whether we combine several jobs

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Send pictures for a quote

Two or three clear photos are normally enough. It helps if you send:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A picture taken from further back
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.
