Bath repair at your home in Ridgmont
A typical bath repair is a few hours’ work, and you can normally bathe again the day after. You won’t need a plumber or tiler, because the bath doesn’t move. We regularly repair pressed steel enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and roll-top & freestanding, and people most often call us about a chip where the taps sit and a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting.
Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

Repairs by material
Cast iron
Cast iron is heavy and rigid, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, so it’s always worth repairing.
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.
What else we do in Ridgmont
Your questions about bath repair in Ridgmont
Is a bath repair durable?
It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It carries our one-year guarantee.
Can you match an avocado or pink bath?
Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including older coloured suites.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and you’ll get one combined price.
Does someone need to be in?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.
What do you need from me?
Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Generally, yes. Let us know what was used before.
How invisible is a bath repair?
We aim for a repair you can’t easily find. How well it disappears depends on the condition of the rest of the bath, and we’ll tell you what to expect.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.
What we can’t put right
Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:
- Metal that has corroded all the way through
- A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
- Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before you book.
What we work on
- Cast iron enamel
- Acrylic
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Pressed steel enamel
- Whirlpool & spa baths
When to call us in Ridgmont
The usual cause is something heavy dropped into the bath, and building work is a common culprit. Cracks in acrylic have a different cause: the bath isn’t properly supported, so it flexes under weight.
These are the problems we are asked about most:
- Chips under the taps
- A cracked acrylic bath
- Rust by the waste and overflow
- A failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting
Questions to ask before you book
- Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
- What happens if they find more damage
- How the room is protected while they work
- The length of the guarantee and what it covers
What affects the price in Ridgmont
Repairs from £95. We don’t charge extra for travel to Ridgmont. The price depends on:
- What the surface is made of
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Whether we combine several jobs
- What kind of damage it is
Compared with replacing, repairing usually costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
Getting a price from photos
A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Natural light rather than flash
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- A photo taken from further back
If you are in Ridgmont and want a price, pictures are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You will get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.
Why repair rather than replace?
A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It’s a fraction of the cost of a new bath and fitting, it’s done in one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
What you get with us
- One-year guarantee on every repair
- CHAS and Constructionline accredited
- Honest advice, even when it means no job
- Dust sheets down, tidy finish
Read our prices page or bath cost comparison.
Looking after it afterwards
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
- Have new chips seen to early
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
- Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine, avoiding abrasives.
Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through until it’s repaired. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.
How it works
The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we’re there. Protection goes down first, then the work takes a few hours, depending on the damage. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
- Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the day after.
Before we arrive
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
- Make sure the room can be ventilated
- Point us to the nearest place to park
How to get a price
The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos using our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.

DIY kit or professional repair?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
