Bath repair in Ruloe

How we handle bath repair in Ruloe

You do not need a new bath because of a chip. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, mixing the colour on the day so the repair is hard to spot. Common call-outs are for hairline or through cracks in acrylic and an old repair that has yellowed or come loose, in pressed steel enamel, cast iron enamel and roll-top & freestanding.

Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

Before and after: a damaged acrylic bath corner repaired in place

Looking after it afterwards

So the finish stays in good condition:

  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby

A repaired bath needs no special treatment, beyond gentle cleaning. Avoid bleach-based and gritty cleaners.

Rust under enamel spreads surprisingly quickly. A chip the size of a fingernail can become a much larger patch if it’s left for months, so early repair keeps the cost down.

Why repair rather than replace?

People frequently assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. Normally it does not: a repair keeps the bath in service for years, without the cost and upheaval of replacing it. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Signs you need bath repair in Ruloe

Glass and heavy bottles cause more chips than anything else. Fittings cause damage too: water collects there, so chips nearby rust quickly.

If you can see any of these, send us a photo:

  • Damage beneath the taps
  • A hole punched through by something heavy
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • Deep scratches in acrylic

What your quote should include

  • How soon you can use it again
  • How to care for the finish
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • If travel is included in the price

10 questions to ask before you book

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. There’s no area surcharge for Ruloe. What changes the price is:

  • How much damage there is
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send photos and we will give you the exact figure.

Send pictures for a quote

You can normally get a fixed quote without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

If you’re in Ruloe and want a price, the easiest route is pictures: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Landlord and trade work in Ruloe

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, pictures and access details and we will arrange it.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Ruloe use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it usually costs far less than a refit.

Questions from Ruloe

Can landlords book you?

Yes, frequently. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?

Most of the time. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so we need access under the bath.

Can you fix rust around the plughole?

Yes, very often. The rust is cut back to clean metal and sealed before we fill and finish it.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the whole UK, including Ruloe and the rest of Cheshire West and Chester. Just include your postcode and we’ll offer you dates.

What does bath repair cost?

Prices start from £95. Because every job differs, we price from photos. You’ll get a fixed figure before booking.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit normally costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just ensure the landlord agrees.

What a repair can’t fix

It helps to know what we cannot do too:

  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
  • A steel bath rusted through
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding

The process

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take a few hours, depending on the damage, including clearing up.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
  5. Once it has cured, normally by the following day, the bath is ready to use.

Before we arrive

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
