Bath repair near Shadingfield

Bath repair at your home in Shadingfield

Whatever the damage, the aim is the same: a repair that is smooth, sound and hard to spot. Proper preparation, careful filling and shaping, then colour and gloss matching so it sits flush with the rest of the bath. We’re frequently asked to fix holes from dropped items and a chipped rim or side, in pressed steel enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and cast iron enamel.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Broken acrylic bath corner, rebuilt and refinished (before and after)

Keeping it looking good

How the surface is treated afterwards matters:

  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
  • Store metal items away from the bath

Don’t leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, because they can mark the enamel. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

Avoid standing in a cracked acrylic bath until it’s fixed. Every use opens the crack a little more, and it can start to leak underneath.

When to call us in Shadingfield

Acrylic baths that crack nearly always have a support problem. Loose legs, no proper cradle or a floor that gives let the bath move until it cracks.

Customers usually contact us about:

FAQs for Shadingfield

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We review the photos and send a fixed quote.

Are there extra charges for Shadingfield?

We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed quote includes everything.

How do I book?

Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Can you match an avocado or pink bath?

Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including pastel and older colours.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

In most cases. The old repair comes out first, so let us know about it.

Will the price change on the day?

Your quote covers the damage in the photos. If there’s more, we’ll tell you before starting.

Do you work in Shadingfield?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Shadingfield and the rest of Suffolk. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Generally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.

When a repair isn’t the answer

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Materials we work on in Shadingfield

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel

Should you replace it?

For damage in one or two places, a repair is the obvious choice. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it takes one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Our bath repair starts from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.

Why Shadingfield clients choose us

What happens on the day

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take two to three hours for most chips, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Open a window if you can
  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

How to get a price

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.
