Bath repair near Shustoke

How the visit works

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so you know exactly what we’re doing. Then the area is sheeted and masked and we start. Allow a morning or an afternoon, and we will tell you if anything changes.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, usually the day after.

How to prepare

  • Open a window if you can
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Ask for a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.

Bath repair in Shustoke, done in place

It pays to repair bath damage while it’s small. On steel and cast iron, exposed metal starts to rust, and on acrylic, a crack keeps spreading while the bath flexes. Repairing it stops the damage getting worse. Whether it’s chips under the taps and an old repair that has yellowed or come loose, we can normally put it right, whatever the material.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you’re covered after the visit.

Can I fix it myself?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a fitted bath normally means a plumber, removing the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and disposing of the old one. Repairing it fixes just the damaged area in a single visit. Prices start from £95. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing generally costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Shustoke: your questions answered

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

Do you repair coloured baths?

Yes, we match coloured baths too. We tint the finish to your bath on site.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and you’ll get one combined price.

Do you work in Shustoke?

We do. Technicians travel to Shustoke from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Will the price change on the day?

We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

When can you do it?

Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Normally, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

What we’re called out for in Shustoke

A bath gets knocked about more than you’d think: bottles, shower heads and razors are dropped every day, and fittings press hard against the enamel. Sooner or later, most baths pick up a chip.

Most people get in touch after spotting one of these:

  • A kit repair that didn’t last
  • Impact holes in acrylic
  • Chips under the taps
  • Cracks in an acrylic bath

What to look for in a quote

  • What happens if they find more damage
  • If travel is included in the price
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • What aftercare is recommended

Honest limits

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.

Surfaces we repair

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, particularly by the plughole, so repair chips early.

Keeping it looking good

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
  • Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath

Use gentle, non-abrasive cleaners and try not to drop heavy bottles on the repair. Get any new chip seen to quickly, before rust can start.

Avoid standing in a cracked acrylic bath until it’s fixed. Every use opens the crack a little more, and it can start to leak underneath.
