Repair or replace in Sicklesmere?
A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, the panel may not fit the new one, and the plumbing has to be disconnected and refitted. A repair skips all of it. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Bath repair in Sicklesmere, done in place
Bath repair is our most common job. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all fixed without removing the bath, normally in one visit. Common call-outs are for cracks in an acrylic bath and rust by the waste and overflow, on acrylic, whirlpool & spa baths and pressed steel enamel.
Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

How we price bath repair
Repairs from £95. Prices are worked out job by job, from your photos. The main factors are:
- How easy the damage is to reach
- The colour and finish to match
- Whether we combine several jobs
- How much damage there is
A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
Quotes from your photos
Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To make it quick:
- The material, if you know it
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- One picture of the entire bath
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. There is no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.
How it works
On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll take it from there. Most visits take two to three hours for most chips, including clearing up.
- We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
- Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
- We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
- The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
- The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.
Before we arrive
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
Get a quote
A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, include your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.
Related advice
What a repair cannot fix
A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:
- A steel bath rusted through
- Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.
Materials we repair
- Pressed steel enamel
- Cast iron enamel
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Acrylic
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is what we repair.
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Sicklesmere questions
Do you hold any accreditations?
We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.
Is there a call-out fee?
No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.
When can you do it?
Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.
Is my repair covered?
Yes: twelve months. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.
What happens next?
We review the photos and send a fixed quote and the next dates we have.
Will it make a mess?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.
What do you need from me?

How to care for the repair
So the finish stays in good condition:
- Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
- Give the bath a quick rinse after use
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
- If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before using the bath. After that, gentle cleaning keeps it looking good.
Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through until it’s repaired. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
