Bath repair for Sinclairston homes

How we handle bath repair in Sinclairston

Small damage on a bath is worth repairing early. Exposed metal on enamelled baths soon rusts, and on acrylic, a crack keeps spreading while the bath flexes. A repair stops both. Typical jobs include a kit repair that didn’t last and cracks in an acrylic bath, across roll-top & freestanding, pressed steel enamel and whirlpool & spa baths.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Repair or replace: which is better?

When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and the bathroom stays as it is. If the entire surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we will tell you. Our bath repair starts from £95. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

What you get with us

What your bath is made of matters

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, finished with fired enamel. Chips can rust if left, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, which makes it well worth repairing.

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

How to care for the repair

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Check that an acrylic bath doesn’t move when you stand in it
  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale

Don’t leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, because they can mark the enamel. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, so water cannot get in. Remove it before the repair.

Sinclairston questions

How long before I can use the bath?

Normally by the following day, depending on the repair.

How soon can you come?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We’ll let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Will the repair show?

On a glossy bath, you will struggle to find it. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.

How much does bath repair cost in Sinclairston?

Prices start from £95. Every job gets a fixed price based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up and a photo of the whole item with your KA18 postcode.

Can you match an avocado or pink bath?

Yes, coloured baths are no problem. The colour is tinted by hand on the day.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Of course, and it typically saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you’ll get one combined price.

What happens if you find more damage?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.

When to call us in Sinclairston

Damage during fitting is very common. Tradespeople drop tools and tiles into the bath, and the damage isn’t always spotted until later. Snagging repairs like these are a regular job for us.

Most people get in touch after spotting one of these:

  • Impact holes in acrylic
  • A cracked acrylic bath
  • Damage beneath the taps
  • Chips on the rim or sides

What to look for in a quote

  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • How the colour is matched
  • What preparation is included

Our hiring checklist

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The colour and finish to match
  • The type of damage

Compared with replacing, repairing generally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Getting a price from photos

You can take the photos on your phone, there’s no need for anything special. Make sure they show:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • What it’s made of, if you know

Email us a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your KA18 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

How it works

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you’re not left guessing. Once we’re there, the work takes two to three hours for most chips for most jobs. The room is left tidy and you will know when it can be used.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

How to get a price

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
